Captain Gravitone & the String Theory Orchestra plays Americana Folk Rock, infused with Tango and Jazz. The sound is thought provoking and fun, sometimes moody, with a sense of humor reminiscent of Tom Waits, Frank Zappa and Bela Fleck. Plump with instrumental jams and moving vocals, the group navigates between Irish drinking songs, Jazz ballads, and catchy Rock tunes. The Mankato-based group features Eli Hoehn on banjo and vocals, Wayne Schmidt and Jason Helder on guitars and vocals, Damen Price on drums, and vocalist Kelly Kroeker. The group is the resident house-band for the Cabaret Le Ruse theatre group and has performed with some of Minnesota’s finest musicians including Papa John Kolstad, Tom Lieberman, Steve Kaul, Bill Grenke, Scott Fultz, Ron Arsenault, Dave Pengra, Wendy Soleil, and Karen Kozak, among others
