Whiskey Burn w/ About a Boat & Ol’ Coyote
Whiskey Burn. Good dudes, solid dudes, rocking their weekends and late nights after working the grind 9 to 5. No room for pretension, no fancy clothes or fancy poses, just stare straight ahead and bring the rock and roll. They fill rooms and put smiles on the faces of everyone who sees them. Life is too short not to have fun. Plying their craft in bars, festivals, and music venues in the Twin Cities Metro Area, these guys have a blast and love to bring the music, from hard-driving rock, to gnarly blues, to punky angst. Born from an acoustic duo of Mike McGrath (guitar) and Jason Holte (vocals), the band quickly added former Northern MN metal drummer, Zack Farmer to become a trio. Tony Z (bass), Jim Hurley (guitar), and renowned keyboardist Larry McDonough round out the big sound that Whiskey Burn is known for. Recorded at St. Paul’s Chubby Mammal Recording Studio, their 2023 debut EP “Where We Come From” is an example of having the right title for the right band. These guys are unafraid to be themselves, to share a bit of their world with us in their songs, and now – their debut release.
About a Boat is an alternative rock band known for their eclectic sound, blending influences from legends like the Beatles, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Weezer, and Blink-182 with fresh, original energy. Formed in 2021 as a solo project by Austin Goodrich, the band evolved after the disbanding of Chasing Mabel, a cover band where Austin, Bill Goodrich, (keys and guitar) and Scott Hearley (drummer) performed together. Jim Nelson joined on bass to complete the band’s lineup. In 2022, About a Boat released their debut EP “Setting Off” recorded at Drum Farm Studios with the help of producer John Richardson. With a growing catalog and a clear passion for their craft, About a Boat is setting sail to make waves in the alternative rock scene.
Ol Coyote is an indie rock band that mixes blues, folk, funk and r&b elements together into a unique midwestern americana sound. The Saint Paul based quartet features Trevor Gray on lead guitar/vocals, Luke Muellerleile on rhythm guitar/vocals, Mitch Benson on bass, and Tony McGibbon on drums.
