Wednesday, May 28

7:00PM Doors ✖ Hall ✖ $15 ADV / $20 DOOR ✖ 21+

The Johnny Sincerely Orchestra and goth-folk duo Charming Disaster present an evening of carnival rock and roll and haunted vaudeville. Featuring classy debauchery, dangerous romanticism, and songs inspired by death, crime, myth, magic, and the occult.

The Johnny Sincerely Orchestra is a dangerous concoction of vaudevillian theatricality, rock n roll, European folk music, blues and new orleans-tinged jazz (with an occasional tango thrown in) – making them groundbreakers in the genre of “Carnival Rock n Roll”. Johnny and the gang burst on the scene in 2021 – coming off the release of Johnny’s solo album Yours Truly, Johnny Sincerely – they became a mainstay and crowd favorite in the Twin Cities.
Combining the swaggering piano blues of Screamin’ Jay Hawkins with the musical eclecticism of Tom Waits, Johnny and his ragtag crew of orchestral misfits are a strange sound from a distant but familiar land. Their live shows have earned them much acclaim around the Twin Cities – with Johnny acting as part bandleader, part carnival barker, part cabaret host. Often collaborating with other performance artists, their shows have been known to include burlesque, aeralists, stilt walkers, go-go dancers, contortionists and more.

Charming Disaster is a goth-folk musical duo based in Brooklyn, NY, formed in 2012 by Ellia Bisker and Jeff Morris. Inspired by the macabre humor of Edward Gorey and Tim Burton, the murder ballads of the Americana tradition, and the dramatic flair of the cabaret, they write playfully dark songs about death, crime, myth, magic, science, and the occult. Charming Disaster’s music has been featured on the podcast Welcome to Night Vale, they have toured the United States and Europe, and have opened for Rasputina, Voltaire, The Dresden Dolls. Recent appearances include Dragon Con, the Rochester Fringe Festival, Philadelphia’s Science History Institute, Cleveland’s Wizbang Circus Theatre, and the Coney Island Sideshow stage. Their new album, THE DOUBLE, comes out on May 16.

Charlotte Montgomery is a silly goose/tender indie-folk artist whose music bristles with the power of the feminine and the bittersweet madness of love. Outspoken and passionate, her rawness and poetic vulnerability will rouse your soul by breaking your heart and healing it at the same time.
